Read MoreDeciding who to hire to photograph your wedding is a big decision. When you hire a photographer to document your wedding, you're entrusting that person to capture the emotion of the day, the important moments and all of the details and candor in between. Hiring the right person means that you'll blessed with amazing images that will allow you to relive the emotions and the beauty of your wedding. But what comes after the wedding? Hopefully, when you interviewed your photographer you saw some of his/her sample wedding albums. Finding a photographer who understands how to take great images is important, but it's also important to find a photographer who also understands the significance of your wedding album. I think every couple who invests in their wedding photography should also invest in their album - a big, beautiful wedding album. Your wedding album is your first family heirloom. You'll share it with your children and your grandchildren. You'll flip through it at least a hundred times in your lifetime. It's the one thing that you will have to pick up, hold, touch, feel and look through sixty years from now. It will transport you back to one of the most magical...
Read MoreMost of my clients have engagement portraits taken, which I love! It's so great to get to spend a little bit of time together before the wedding so that we get to know eachother and the couple learns how to relax in front of the camera. It's also an awesome experience for the couple to get to really focus on each other. Wedding planning can be so crazy, hectic and stressful that often couples forget to really look at eachother and focus on their love for one another. An engagement session is the perfect opportunity to reconnect and have fun together. Here are a few of my favorite engagement portraits from 2011: ...
Read MoreKaylee and Colt grew up in Charleston, Arkansas and have known each other since childhood. Their love story began in high-school and after years of courtship, the two decided to buy a house together. To help ring in the celebration of their new home, Colt had a few surprises up his sleeve. He arranged for Kaylee to enjoy a day full of pampering, relaxation and gifts. After what seemed to be an unusually wonderful day for Kaylee, Colt surprised her again and popped the question! The happy couple was married October 15th at the Eastside Baptist Church in Ft. Smith. Kaylee was calm and collected all day. When I arrived she was relaxed and even running ahead of schedule. That, my friends, is a true feat on a wedding day! The rest of the day unfolded just as gracefully as Kaylee expected. We even had a few minutes of light after their evening ceremony to capture some portraits of the bride and groom. Doesn't Kaylee make a stunning bride? Gorgeous, right?!? Kaylee's bridesmaids were SO MUCH FUN!! Each of these girls were super sweet and clearly wonderful friends to Kaylee. Family and friends celebrated with Kaylee and Colt at the Hardscrabble Country club in Ft....
Read MoreBrandee and Shawn were married this weekend, which means I get to share her beautiful bridal portraits with all of you! There were several things that made Brandee's bridal session fun, unique and memorable. First, Brandee is super sweet, easy going and up for anything to get the shot, which makes my job easy and fun. We were able to shoot on Brandee's neighbor's property, so we had gorgeous light and beautiful yellow wild flowers. The land also came with a pen of pretty unhappy bulls, so there were several moments when we were prepared to jump the fence to dodge an escaped bull. It was an exciting shoot to say the least! Lastly, Brandee is an animal lover and has two adorable dogs. We thought it would be great to include her two furry babies in her session and I'm glad we did - those images are some of my favorites! Here are some of my favorite images from Brandee's bridals. Enjoy! Brandee and her furry babies Jersey and Butters. Love these dogs! Jersey is my new favorite best friend. He is the most gentle, sweet dog I have ever met! ...

I've never been to this location before and was curious how the house and it's surroundings would photograph. As you can see from Kara's portraits below, the location is amazing! We had the perfect light for some backlit photos and some fun, dreamy indoor shots in some of the upstairs rooms of the house. Here are a few of my favorite portraits below: ...
