It's a what to wear blog post! One of the questions I get asked often is "what should we wear?" Your clothing choices are an important part of creating beautiful photographs. For a family session, it's important that your outfits compliment eachother, but not match exactly. Choose a few colors that you like and mix it up, match it up and layer. Accessories and shoes can help bring your look together, so add scarves, jewelry and hats to create a cohesive look.

The light of my life turned two this week. She is the most special person I've ever known and the love that I feel for her is inexplicable. Everyday with her is a gift and I'm so thankful to be her Mom. At two, some of her favorite things to do are singing B-I-N-G-O, painting and drawing, playing with her toy animal collection and playing chase around the house. Her cutest sayings right now are "Oh no!" "Play with me?" "Watch a show a minute?" "1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14...
Adam and Justine are simply an awesome couple to be around. They're smart, easy going, animal-lovers and they make each other laugh, which I love. They're getting married next year in Disneyland, and if you know Justine at all, you know that their fairytale wedding is truly a dream come true! Justine and Adam were a pleasure to work with and I'm so pleased to share some of my favorite images with you on this beautiful and less-than-freaky Friday the 13th:
Baby Keller is here! Krista and Kirk are very proud parents and were more than excited to welcome me into their home in Stuttgart to capture some precious memories of their first born son, Klein. Krista did an amazing job of decorating her little man's nursery, so naturally I've included some images to show you just how lucky this little guy is and how much fun he'll have growing up hunting with his Daddy.

Last Christmas, I had the pleasure of shooting Sam and his Mom Christy. This Easter I was very happy to shoot the pair again, but this time their family joined in! Four kids and four adults certainly made for an fun mini-session, and I think we captured some wonderful memories for this family. Thanks so much to all of the Cryers for inviting me into your home and letting me be part of the family for a short while.

Krista and I were sorority sisters in college and spent a lot of time together working on projects and events, so I was super excited to hear that she and her husband, Kirk, were expecting. I was even more excited when she contacted me about shooting some maternity portraits for her. I was thrilled when she said she wanted me to photograph their little boy's newborn, 6-month and one-year portraits too! There is nothing more amazing than watching a child grow through the lens of a camera, and I can't wait to meet the newest member of their family in May!

Meet Carrie and her darling daughters, Evie and Ruby. These are the sweetest girls with wonderful, bright personalities. Evie has the most infectious little laugh and Ruby is always a happy camper and content just to be with her Mom and big sister. Our mini-session was super mini and we shot mostly indoors because the weather was too chilly for baby Ruby to be outside for more than a few minutes. I loved the purple outfits Carrie picked out - something fun and fresh for winter portraits! Here are a few of my favorite images from our time together:
