Introducing the Meredith Melody Weddings Magazine!

I'm thrilled to introduce my newest marketing piece - a 16-page magazine! This is something I've been working on for months and am so happy with how it turned out. The magazine is full of many of my clients' beautiful wedding photos, but it's also full of super helpful information for brides planning their big day. I've included everything from an editor's page that introduces myself and tells my story, client testimonials, a gorgeous double-page spread that highlights my clients' amazing wedding details, wedding day photography timeline information, a vendor feature, information about portraits and MORE! If you're interested in hiring me to photograph your wedding, get in touch and let's set up a meeting - I'll bring you one of these awesome magazines and lots of other goodies that will help you plan your day! ...

2011 in Review and 2012 Goals

Reflection Around the time we take down our Christmas tree I like to take some time to think back on what was and what will be. 2011 was a very rough year for my family. We ended 2010 with the loss of Andrew's mother and uncle. A few short months later, we were surprised to learn that we were unexpectedly expecting. Sadly, after some abnormal blood work we discovered at 4 months along the pregnancy was not viable and a month later, at 22 weeks, after many complications and unanswered questions we lost our baby. Following those rough months, the company that Andrew worked for began to experience some financial difficulties and we knew that a lay-off was looming on the horizon...

Emma-Kate’s Christmas Portrait

Every year I like to take a photo of Emma-Kate in front of the Christmas tree. This year, she's mastered the art of saying "cheese," so her portraits are often funny with a grin plastered from ear-to-ear. She's such a fun, spunky little girl and I just can't get enough of her enthusiasm for life! Here's one of the photos I snapped this year: ...

Merry Christmas Y’all!

Christmas is hands-down my favorite time of year. I'm one of those super mimsy, sings-Christmas-songs-all-year-long, decorating and baking kind of people. I just love how the Christmas season brings me back to magical childhood memories, and I adore seeing Emma-Kate explore and enjoy all of the merriment. Here is a glimpse into the Melody-Hubbell home this Christmas: We made a trip to Garvan Gardens to see the lights. If you're in Arkansas, and especially if you're close to Hot Springs, this is a MUST see. It's absolutely magical. Like being on a movie set or in a child's fairytale. Simply stunning. And to round this holiday post off, I thought I'd share a few of my favorite instagram pics from the past several weeks.  Have a very Merry Christmas y'all and a very Happy New Year!!...

Our House and Giving Back

A few weekends ago, I spent my Saturday morning photographing some amazing families. I organized this portrait event with Our House, a local shelter for the working homeless, in order to give a few deserving families some beautiful portraits.  It was an experience that I cannot yet put into words as eloquently as I would like, but I wanted to go ahead and share the photos here. I keep thinking back to that day and simply feel overwhelmed by emotion. I think it's easy to forget how lucky we are, how much we have to be thankful for, and how easy it is to go along with our day-to-day lives and not think about the bigger picture. All of these families are working hard to better themselves and to create a better life for their children. I can't think of another situation in my life where I've been around such nice, humble and appreciative women and truly happy kids. I walked away feeling so much love for my own daughter, and determined to find a way to do more for families like these...

The Tale of the Monster Kitty Cat Butterfly

Emma-Kate loves butterflies, so I thought it would be fitting to dress her up as a butterfly for Halloween this year. She seemed excited about the idea, so I gave myself a pat on the back and ordered the costume with the help of my Mom. After a few days of seeing Halloween decorations and cartoons, Emma-Kate started to get really excited about the idea of dressing up and going Trick-Or-Treating. She told everyone she saw about the pumpkins and the blow-up Halloween decorations we have in our yard. What does the adult say in response? "Oh, how exciting! What are you going to be for Halloween?" Emma-Kate's response? "A monster!" Oy. So, we convinced her that she could be a monster butterfly, and that seemed to keep a smile on her face...

A few of My Favorite Things

There are many things I love in life. I thought it would be fun to share a few of my favorites with all of you today. Enjoy!  The beach - For me, a trip to the beach feels like going home. After vacationing at the same place in the same house for 25 years, Pensacola Beach feels like my second home. There's nothing more relaxing than the smell of salty sea air, a beautiful sunset and hearing the waves lap at the shoreline. Buxom lip gloss - Love that this gloss lasts for hours and the tingly feeling it has. Margaritas - La Huerta in Fayetteville and Cantina Loredo in Little Rock are my go-to spots for a good Margarita Dogs - especially, Lola, my Boston Terrier. I like cats, too by the way, but I'm a dog-lover at heart. CoconutLime Verbena candles from Bath & Body Works Ballerina flats A classic black heel Leather boots in the Fall Sassy, colorful pumps Glitzy heels for dressing up Wedges in the summertime Shoes...

Sun, Surf and Sand – Pensacola Beach Vacation!

Pensacola Beach is my home away from home. My parents and I have been going to the same beach and staying in the same house for 25 years. For this trip, my husband and I headed down to the beach with his family in tow. I've never felt such a powerful appreciate for my Pensacola history and my memories until this trip. There was something magical about sharing "our" house with Andrew's family. We explored new things, visited our usual favorites (McGuire's Pub, the Boardwalk and Joe Patti's Seafood to name a few) and created some really fun memories playing on the beach and exploring in the water. We didn't do anything radical or out of the ordinary, but our time together was more special than ever for me and I can't remember the last vacation where I've had so much fun and felt so refreshed afterwards. Sometimes a little sun, surf, sand and loved ones are all you need. Here are a few of my favorite photos from our time on the beach: Here's my amazing family. I love these people so much! My life would not be complete or nearly as much fun without them. My sweet niece Samantha was a trooper...
