Meet Meredith

It’s a Very Merry White Christmas!

We received the most awesome Christmas gift this year - over 10 inches of snow on Christmas night! Emma-Kate and Frank have played outside non-stop for two days straight and we've all shoveled, scooped and thrown our fair share of the white stuff. Here are a few photos from our Christmas in the snow: ...

Santa Fe Family Reunion

Every three years, my Dad's maternal family gathers. We're Italian, so there's always good food, good wine, lots of story telling and even more laughter. This group of people is so much fun to be around and I hate that three years pass between our visits. This year for our reunion, my aunt and uncle hosted us in Santa Fe. The weather was beyond perfect and the scenery breathtaking. We spent our first night in town at my aunt and uncle's beautiful adobe home. Here are a few of my favorite details from the gardens surrounding their house and a few fun memories of our time there, too! My aunt scored a teepee for the kiddos to play in. It was a huge hit! The sunsets were incredible. Our room at La Fonda was comfortable and we were lucky to have a west-facing room with a balcony. The sunsets lasted a good 30-45 minutes and I couldn't have been happier in any other place as those minutes passed. Gorgeous!! ...

Emma-Kate’s First Recital

Emma-Kate's first dance recital was this weekend. It was a big milestone for her and for me, her Mommy. Seeing her up on stage dancing like the true diva she is was hugely rewarding and emotional for me. I was surprised to find myself crying like a big baby by the end of the routine. For weeks and weeks, we've been going every Monday to dance class. Some days she would follow instructions, others she would do her own dance and then some classes she would just stand there doing nothing at all. To see her up on that big, bright stage doing her dance routine as perfectly as an almost-three-year old can was immensely rewarding, especially because she loved it and was proud of herself afterwards. I have never been more proud of her. Here's a snapshot I took of EK right before we went backstage:  ...

Pensacola Beach Fun!

Almost every year, my family and I head down to Pensacola Beach. And by every year, I mean really, every year. We made our first trip when I was two years old and have been back almost every year since - that's inching closer to 30 years by the day! This year was relaxing as always, but super fun because of our spunky Emma-Kate and furry baby Frank. Both were awesome swimmers and spent most of their time wet and sandy. Here are a few of my favorite shots from our trip: ...

Meet Frank, The Cavapoo

If you follow me on Facebook or Instagram then you already know our new, furry baby. His name is Frank and he is the most adorable Cavapoo one will ever meet. Okay, I may be a bit biased when it comes to just how cute he may be. But seriously?? I mean, the dog looks like a stuffed animal. The cute factor is almost out of this world. He is also the most lovable, cuddly, goofy and smart dog I've ever met. He is only 10 weeks and he's already learning to sit, come and fetch. He loves to play chase with Emma-Kate and adores spending his mornings in my lap while I work. While he tolerates posing for my iPhone, he is not a fan of my camera, especially when I put my big 70-200mm lens on. So, I have only a few 'real' photos to share. Here are a few of my favorites - aka the only ones where he isn't a blur. Enjoy! ...

On Turning 29…

So, last Sunday I celebrated my 29th birthday. I went into the weekend feeling a little sorry for myself. I made fun of my husband for being older than me (by a month) and probably irritated my friends and family who are  older than me by a few years and some by a few decades. I whined and I wined. I mean, no one really wants to get older, right? When the actual day rolled around, I reflected. I realized that what it means to grow older means so much more to me now than I expected it would or could. I'm a planner. Always have been, always will be, and when I was younger, I thought a lot about "growing up." I daydreamed about my wedding, what it would be like to be a real grown-up with a job, having kids, yada yada yada. Well, now I'm here and I'm almost 30, and I'm thinking, what's next? What do I plan for now? Then, it dawned on me! The rest of my life, and Emma-Kate's life, and Andrew's life is what's next...

Vintage Baseball Shoot with Victor Sizemore

When I  planned my trip to WPPI this year, I knew I wanted to do a shoot that would be fun and totally different from what I normally photograph. I'd heard from other photographers how great Victor's Mad-Men themed shoot last year was, so I quickly jumped at the opportunity to be part of his 1920's baseball shoot this year. This shoot was so well put together. The costumes, hair & makeup and models were spot on. I couldn't have put together a more 'League of Their Own' shoot if I'd tried with the help of professional costume designers! Here are a few of my favorite shots from this super fun session: ...

Snow! Well, sort of…

I get so excited when I hear meteorologists mention flurries, wintery mix, ice or SNOW. While I'm not a huge fan of winter because cold is rather uncomfortable, I am a snow lover. There is nothing more magical and cozy feeling than watching a good snowfall from the comfort of your warm couch. Its peaceful and beautiful. The simple things in life are almost always my favorite. We had a few flurries today, so Emma-Kate and I had a quick jaunt in the white stuff before it melted away and turned to yucky rain.  ...

Daily Photos, What’s New and Saying Goodbye to Lola

It's still January and I'm proudly keeping up with my New Years Resolution to take at least one photo daily with my phone and share it with all of you on Facebook and Instagram. It's been fun! Some days I catch myself with nothing at all to shoot, which is actually nice. It makes me stop and think. Hmm? What around me would make a fun Instagram? I like that. It's a small challenge that helps me see things in new ways. My daily photos are not always amazing or all that interesting, really, but they are a great way to look back and see what was going on in my life and in business. I love that! Here are a few of my recent daily Instagrams...
