A few months ago I shot a wedding in Poteau, Oklahoma/Ft. Smith, Arkansas. Jana and Mark's wedding was a really beautiful affair and very unique. Jana and her team of planners from Details Weddings & Events did an incredible job of putting together an elegant and traditional wedding with contemporary touches that reflected Jana's love of nature - they did such a great job that it caught the eye of the infamous Style Me Pretty website! I'm thrilled and honored to share with all of you that the photos from Jana's wedding have been featured on the SMP Little Black Book blog. Here's a screen capture, but you can also click on the badge below to see the full post:
We celebrated Emma-Kate's first birthday this weekend. What a wonderful day we had celebrating with family and friends! Emma-Kate's birthday theme was cupcakes, and I had a blast planning and putting together all of the details. Our good friend Jason was kind enough to take photos during the party so that I could focus on the birthday girl, one of my wonderful friends made the beautiful and delicious cupcakes and cupcake-cake, and my awesome family helped me get everything set-up for the festivities. Here are some of my favorite photos from Emma's one-year portraits and the party:
What better way to celebrate my daughter's first birthday than a photo montage on the blog? I'll post her one-year session and birthday party soon, too! I feel so blessed by my gift of photography to document Emma-Kate's life, and hope that as Emma grows up she will too. Here are my favorite images from EK over the past 12 months:
Only a few days old
3 Months - Teething
4 Months - Rolling Over
5 Months - Sitting Up
I couldn't decide between these two photos because I love that her eyes look almost blue here, and I can't get enough
of her long lashes in the next photo
7 Months - First Tooth
8 Months - Our First Mother's Day & Crawling!
9 Months - First Vacation to Pensacola Beach, Florida
10 Months - First Steps
11 Months - Walking!
The bridal fair yesterday was a really fantastic show and I think everyone who attended came away with new ideas for their weddings and hopefully checked some things off their lists of to-do's. So many of the vendors did an amazing job creating beautiful, creative and unique booths. I took loads of photos and will post those soon so you can see just how fabulous of a show it was!
We had hundreds of brides, bridesmaids and their friends stop by my booth to visit and sign-up for the contest. Thank you to everyone who stopped by and visited with me and my assistant, Rachel. It was a pleasure meeting you all and if you plan to be at the January fair, please come on by and visit with us again!
I'm excited to announce our bridal fair contest winners today on the blog! Drumroll please...
My, my how time flies. It completely baffles me that EK turns ONE in a month! My little peanut has turned into a big girl who eats string cheese, drinks out of a sippy-cup, toddles about the house on her own and is babbling up a storm. I really had no idea how quickly she would grow from a beautiful baby into an amazing little person with boundless energy and insatiable curiosity. Here's to one more month of babyhood before she is officially a toddler!
Life seems to be a bit of a blur these days, but there's always a piece of clarity in the day when Emma sits still long enough to
give me some good eye contact that makes my heart swell
Emma-Kate loves to 'read!'
Here are some shots of Emma-Kate with her super awesome cousin, Samantha.
Meredith went above and beyond any expectations that we had for her as our wedding photographer! She was professional, but at the same time so much fun and always open to any ideas that we threw her way. She has been blessed with the gift of being able to capture what a wedding day is all about, and WE feel blessed that we found her! Thank you so much for capturing our memories so that we can always look back on them and remember how much fun our big day was!!!

Last weekend Andrew, Emma-Kate and I made a trip up to Minnesota for a very fun graduation party. Jordon graduated from high school in the spring and her family decided to throw an awesome party to celebrate her achievements. What party would be complete without a giant blow-up bouncey house and sumo wrestling?
Isn't Jordan gorgeous! Her personality shines just as much as her beautiful smile.
Who doesn't love a well-decorated porta-potty?
One more photo of the graduate!
I could go on and on about how beautiful Jana and Mark's Fort Smith wedding was...
Jana and Mark had an intimate rehearsal and rehearsal dinner the eve of their wedding. All of the vendors did a fabulous job putting together a beautiful dinner to celebrate the couple - I've never seen carnations look so good and the place setting and menu details were adorable.
