Last summer, I had the pleasure of photographing Nancy and Jackson's Little Rock wedding (you can see their details post here and their portraits here). Today, their wedding photography was featured on OneWed's Savvy Scoop blog. The write-up that OneWed put together is beautiful and matches the elegance and timelessness of the day perfectly. Here's a quick snapshot of the post and a link for quick access. Happy reading!
Thank you so much to everyone who came by my booth at the bridal fair last weekend. It's always such a pleasure to meet brides, their friends and families. There were over 3,000 of them at the fair - it was a lot of fun! As a thank you to all of the lovely brides-to-be who stopped and visited, I'm giving away four engagement sessions and a 16x20 canvas gallery wrap with every package if you book by Valentine's Day. If you're interested in booking your wedding with me and want to know more about the canvas wrap, email me! (firstname.lastname@example.org) and we'll chat about your photography needs and the details of your wedding.
Now to announce the contest winners...
A few weeks ago, I received a call from Steven with Distinctive Designs by Tanarah. He called to thank me for the photos I took of their booth at the August fair last year (you can see those bridal fair photos here), and said that they were so thrilled with my images that they'd love for me to cover their booth at the January fair. Knowing that Tanarah and her team are simply AMAZING and come up with the most beautiful, creative and unique floral arrangements and event design, I of course said yes!
Below are a few of my favorite images of the totally ethereal and meticulously designed booth (voted best design at the fair, I might add!) are below:
And here is Tanarah and part of her incredibly awesome and talented team. Not only do they dream up and create beautiful floral design, but they are all super nice people who are so friendly and make you feel like part of the family! Thanks so much for having me capture all of the beautiful arrangements and details you designed!!
Congratulations to my newest client, Lauren Alexander, and her fiance Craig. This adorable couple will exchange vows in Little Rock on June 18 and celebrate their new life downtown at the Little Rock Club. Congrats!...
I use Lightroom and Photoshop in my studio to make people look better. I don't make major changes to my images, but I often touch-up lines around the eyes and mouth, remove stray hairs, soften shiny spots on the cheeks and forehead, and reduce the appearance of blemishes. I also adjust the color & contrast of images to make them look a little more interesting, or more realistic. I also like to play around with photos by adding an artistic touch to give the image a different look that helps define my style as a photographer.
As you can see, these images are pretty nice looking straight out of the camera. The 'after' images just have a more polished look and have a little more 'pop' to them.
2010 has been a fantastic year. Thus far, this has been the craziest and most fun year as a photographer. Transitioning from part-time to full-time and having a little one at home has been rewarding, challenging and certainly enjoyable. I'm grateful for all of my wonderful clients and very supportive friends and family - Without all of you I wouldn't be able to do what I love for a living. Thank you to all of my clients for inviting me into your lives and sharing some of your most precious moments and growing families with me. 2011 is sure to bring amazing new people into my life and I can't wait to see how it unfolds. As a wrap up to a great year, here are a handful of my favorite images from 2010:
There were SO many fantastic images from Jamie & Michael's session that I couldn't decide on just one image for this post! You can see their blog post here.
I certainly couldn't leave Emma-Kate out of this post, so here are a few of my favorite shots of my sweet daughter from this year:
Congratulations to Jamie Burt and Michael Newton on becoming one of my awesome 2011 clients! Jamie and Michael are super sweet, have the most romantic engagement story and are planning a beautiful wedding in Little Rock on May 14, 2011. We're shooting their engagement session this week, so you'll get to meet this happy couple soon. Congrats again, Jamie & Michael!...
Today's post has a dual purpose. First, I want to share with all of you the portrait session of one of my favorite friends and her lovely parents. Second, I want to share a few of the holiday card designs I have for 2010!
I love Fall for many reasons, but one of my favorite things about this season is the weather and having the opportunity to take lots of portraits. I think everyone should have the chance to have their portrait taken, and what better time to do it than before the Holiday season begins? Planning ahead and scheduling your portrait session in the early Fall means that you have great photos to send out with your Season's greetings, or better yet - use your photos to have a custom-designed card created for you.
Here are a few of my favorite images from my session with the Mitchell family and some beautiful card designs I'm offering this season:

A few weeks ago, the Arkansas Bridal Fair took place in Little Rock. Bridal fairs are an awesome way for Arkansas brides to meet some of the best florist and event designers, see some amazing Arkansas wedding photography, get ideas and stock up on loads of discounts, prizes and coupons. One of my favorite central Arkansas event designers and florists is Distinctive Designs by Tanarah. I've only heard wonderful things about them and they produce amazing and unique designs and floral arrangements. At the Fall bridal fair, they put together a truly amazing booth design that I drooled over, and kept sneaking away from my own booth to take some quick photos. Here are some shots from their booth:
