I am so excited! I have been working with the fabulous Golden Fox Design on the new brand for my business. My original logo was mostly self-designed and over the years I've felt the need for something new. Something fresh, yet classic. Something fashion, something glam. I am in love with my new brand design and I can't wait for my new website to launch in a few weeks. For now, here is a sneak peek at the new and improved Meredith Melody Photography logo and brand!
Motherhood. It's the most amazing, life changing, whirlwind, joyous, non-stop role a woman can have. One of my favorite things about photographing mothers is that a photoshoot with me gives them a few hours of quiet. A small amount of time alone, focused on themselves. It's a chance to relax, have fun and feel totally pampered. Capturing who you are today, as your kids see you, is one of the most precious gifts a mother can give herself and her children. Your kids love you just as you are, not 5 years younger or 10 pounds lighter. To them, you are the most beautiful woman alive.
The story of a mom is so special that I wanted to create something unique. Something to showcase just how beautiful moms are and how precious the time is when our little ones are young. So, recently, I filmed a shoot with my friend and client, Merry Klien. She's a wife, a mother of two young boys and a business owner. My videographer, Nathan Willis, perfectly captured Merry's photoshoot experience with me and her beautiful family.
Mother's Day is just around the corner, if you'd like to book a session for yourself or the mom in...
2013 was an amazing year and 2014 promises to be even better. As more and more clients come into my studio and become part of the Meredith Melody Photography family, the workload grows and my task list gets longer - more edits and retouching, more emails, more albums to design, more bookeeping data to enter, etc, etc. As much as I enjoy being a self-sufficient business owner, I love spending more of my time behind the lens than in front of the computer. With all of this growth, I am excited to announce that I am on the hunt for a talented, smart, motivated, creative, kind and business savvy studio manager to help grow MMP! The details of the position are below - if you or someone you know would be a good candidate, please contact me!

Earlier this year, I had the pleasure of working with some of my favorite vendors on an amazing collaborative photoshoot. The idea behind the shoot was an equestrian inspired country wedding. The shoot took place at the Castle on Stagecoach, which could not have been a more perfect location. The rolling lawns, the picturesque stone mansion and warm light made for a gorgeous background. Tanarah Luxe Floral and Details, Weddings and Events worked together to create the florals, tablescape and details. Everything came together perfectly and I am so proud of how the shoot turned out. Working on projects, like this, that are creative is one of my favorite job perks. Spending time working with amazingly talented people and doing something that is purely for creating beautiful imagery is fuel for my soul.
Here are a few of my favorite shots:
The shoot has been featured on Every Last Detail, a fantastic blog dedicated to all things wedding. To see the full feature and many more images, stop by the Every Last Detail blog here!
Social media and how we present ourselves online are becoming increasingly important to our personal and professional lives. What people can learn about us through social networking sites has a huge impact on how we are perceived by our co-workers, potential employers, as well as friends and family. Your profile photo on LinkedIn, Facebook or Twitter is often the first thing someone sees when they research you online. Appearing professional, inviting and polished is especially important for those who work in customer-service related industries, such as real estate and insurance agents, personal accountants, or life coaches. What better way to put your best foot forward than with a modern and beautiful headshot?
One of my favorite parts of shooting a wedding is the wedding-ring shot. It's one of my favorite images to capture because it requires a lot of creativity, patience and skill to get a visually appealing and sharp image. It's especially challenging to capture this shot because I'm not always in the most ideal of locations - such as a dark church or a plain hotel room - so there's always some extra brainstorming to come up with something great for these shots. I love it!
For ring shots, you really need a macro lens. The one I use isn't super expensive, but it does the job. Shooting at a higher f-stop makes for sharp stones in the rings, so I try and shoot no lower than f/10 or f/12, but my preference if I have enough light is to shoot around f/18. When you set up this shot, look for lots of bright light. Use a backdrop that will create either a very classic set-up, or something that will help to tell the color story of the day.
Here is a behind the scenes shot of one of my recent set-ups. I had already captured a dark, mirrored image of the...

I'm super excited to share my first studio promo video with you! For all of the ladies out there who've wondered what it's like to be photographed by me in the studio, I hope this video answers some questions and gets you excited about booking your own shoot!
I have been at my new photography studio for a few months, now, and I am loving everything about it. Being located in Hillcrest in Little Rock is amazing. I love it because the neighborhood is full of super nice people, is dog-friendly and has lots of eateries and boutiques. Parking is easy to find and there is a Kroger out my back door. I feel right at home!
I wanted the studio to feel light, airy and modern, so I chose mostly white and black for the decor, as well as a few pops of red since that's my favorite color. The large room is where I do day-to-day editing, client communication and marketing. It's also my consult area where I meet with clients and hold image viewing appointments. The second area is my natural light studio, which is dedicated to shooting, hair and makeup. The light in the shooting room is dreamy even on the cloudiest of days, and because it's almost always bathed in light, it also happens to be Frank's favorite place to nap.
Take a look around, and I hope to see you here soon!
