Celebrate Mom | A Photoshoot with Meredith Melody

Motherhood. It's the most amazing, life changing,  whirlwind, joyous, non-stop role a woman can have. One of my favorite things about photographing mothers is that a photoshoot with me gives them a few hours of quiet. A small amount of time alone, focused on themselves. It's a chance to relax, have fun and feel totally pampered. Capturing who you are today, as your kids see you, is one of the most precious gifts a mother can give herself and her children. Your kids love you just as you are, not 5 years younger or 10 pounds lighter. To them, you are the most beautiful woman alive. The story of a mom is so special that I wanted to create something unique. Something to showcase just how beautiful moms are and how precious the time is when our little ones are young. So, recently, I  filmed a shoot with my friend and client, Merry Klien. She's a wife, a mother of two young boys and a business owner. My videographer, Nathan Willis, perfectly captured Merry's photoshoot experience with me and her beautiful family. Mother's Day is just around the corner, if you'd like to book a session for yourself or the mom in...

Arkansas Arts Center Wedding | Niki and Kyle

Niki and Kyle's Arkansas Arts Center wedding was the perfect blend of classic and modern. Kyle's traditional tuxedo with bow tie, Niki's classic mermaid silhouette dress and touches of black and white ribbon with pops of bright pink were lovely pairings. Not only were the details beautiful, but this bride and groom were so wonderful to photograph - a gorgeous couple so in love! Meg and Tommy – Fort Smith Wedding Photography

Meg and Tommy were married on March 15th at the First United Methodist Church in Fort Smith. The day and the ceremony could not have been more perfect, even though it rained! Tommy and Meg are an adorably sweet couple who are madly in love and both very dedicated to their church and God. The day was filled with emotions and special touches - family heirlooms, warm embraces and many happy prayers. Here are some of my favorite details, real moments and portraits from their day: Meg surprised her Dad with an embroidered handkerchief. What she inscribed brought him tears. One of my favorite father-daughter wedding moments ever! Meg and Tommy celebrated with family and friends at the Hardscrabble Country Club. The reception was beautiful and so fun! The dance floor as packed the entire night and the room was full until the very last song. Congratulations, Meg and Tommy!!!!  ...

Arkansas Boudoir – Boudoir Photoshop Retouching

Curious about how much of my work is photoshopped? Well, not that much. I try always to keep my clients looking like my clients. My goal for every shoot is NOT for you to look nothing like yourself. I want you to feel amazing in your own skin, but that said, sometimes our skin could use a little help. Personally, ever since I turned 30, I feel like a teenager again! Breakouts, oily skin - it's crazy and when I'm photographed I want that stuff minimized! When you come into my studio, the makeup is really what makes a transformation. Bold and smokey versus natural makes a huge difference in the end product and how your images look. Regardless of how we style your session, I always retouch the same way for every client. It's pretty simple and not a crazy, dramatic transformation like you might see some supermodels go through in fashion editorials. Here's my checklist: Remove blemishes Reduce under eye circles (I don't remove them completely because that looks unnatural and, well, fake! We all have a bit of shadow under our eyes) Smooth skin and even out skin tone Soften wrinkles (again, I don't completely remove these, but I reduce and soften) Enhance eyes Pump...
