Hayley and I met the summer between 5th and 6th grade at church camp. We instantly became best friends. Hayley lived in Helena and I was from Fayetteville, so naturally we were devastated, as only pre-teen girls can be, when we had to part ways at the end of camp. When I showed up to the first day of 6th grade, I was shocked and so excited to see her sitting in my classroom. We spent the rest of our school days together, from 6th grade all the way through highschool. We lived together in college and joined the same sorority. After a year at the UofA, Hayley decided to follow her heart and move to Charleston to pursue a degree and career in the culinary arts. Hayley is one of those friends that no matter how long we are apart or how far away we live from eachother, it feels as tho nothing has changed when we’re together. She has always been a very special person to me and I was so honored when she asked me to fly out to document her Charleston destination wedding.
The wedding was beautiful and full of love and laughter. Hayley and Nick now live in Atlanta, but they met originally in Charleston, so the southern destination was perfect for their wedding. Hayley created many of the details herself and her friends and family all pulled together to turn her vision into reality. Here are a few of my favorite details, real moments and portraits from their day:
