Brandee and Shawn were married on September 10th at Brandee’s parents’ home. This was one of the most enjoyable wedding photography experiences I’ve ever had, and it was all because of my amazing client and her amazing family and friends. Brandee is a seriously sweet, wonderful person and her mother, Jelaine, is my favorite mother of the bride to date – the Lumpkins are simply great people. After shooting this wedding, I told Jelaine that I felt like a member of their family. Not only did Brandee’s family help put together the wedding, but her church family did too. Many of Jelaine’s friends helped with the catering and the event set-up. It was the most put-together and warm group of non-wedding pros I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. Being surrounded by so many loving friends and family made the day especially wonderful for everyone who attended the wedding.

Brandee, Jelaine and my good friends over at Distinctive Designs by Tanarah did an amazing job of creating a beautiful, relaxed wedding. Jelaine had the vision and Stephen at Distinctive Designs helped her turn it into reality. Burlap, wild flowers and hand painted signs made this wedding warm and pretty. There were special touches everywhere that made the day truly unique to Brandee and Shawn – Brandee’s grandmother’s ring was woven into her bouquet, Jelaine’s wedding gown (also worn by her aunt and her mother) was on display, family heirloom silver was incorporated into some of the flowers, the mother of the bride made the most delish cheesecakes for the bride’s cakes and last but not least Jersey the dog walked down the aisle with the flower girls. If you didn’t see Jersey in Brandee’s bridal portraits, be sure to stop by that post later!

Here are a few of my favorite details, moments and portraits from the day:

Brandee and Shawn decided to have a ‘First Look.’ I’m so glad they did! The timeline for the day went smoothly and Brandee felt super relaxed afterwards.

Since the ceremony was performed by family and long time friends, there was a lot of laughter…. tearful moments, too. This is one of my favorite shots from the ceremony. Brandee looks SO happy!
