2010 Favorites – Little Rock Wedding and Portrait Photography

2010 has been a fantastic year. Thus far, this has been the craziest and most fun year as a photographer. Transitioning from part-time to full-time and having a little one at home has been rewarding, challenging and certainly enjoyable.  I'm grateful for all of my wonderful clients and very supportive friends and family - Without all of you I wouldn't be able to do what I love for a living. Thank you to all of my clients for inviting me into your lives and sharing some of your most precious moments and growing families with me. 2011 is sure to bring amazing new people into my life and I can't wait to see how it unfolds. As a wrap up to a great year, here are a handful of my favorite images from 2010: Weddings Engagements There were SO many fantastic images from Jamie & Michael's session that I couldn't decide on just one image for this post! You can see their blog post here. Puppy Love I certainly couldn't leave Emma-Kate out of this post, so here are a few of my favorite shots of my sweet daughter from this year: ...

Patricia & John’s 10-10-10 Little Rock Wedding

Patricia and John were married on October 10th at the Manor House in downtown Little Rock. The house is a gem and is only a short distance away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Little Rock. It was the perfect location for this happy couple to exchange vows. Patricia wanted to keep the guest list small and the evening intimate. She designed the wedding decor and florals around a vintage theme, so the quaint garden and historic charm of the Manor House were just right for bringing her vision to reality. A note to brides: I love, love, love outdoor wedding ceremonies. Sure, there's always a chance of rain (that's what rain plans are for!), but the quality of photographs from an outdoor ceremony vs. an indoor ceremony cannot be compared. The lighting and color are almost always perfect during outdoor ceremonies and it shows in the final images. Also, having an outdoor ceremony allows me to move around more freely and a little more discretely than indoor ceremonies, which means you get even MORE awesome images from your ceremony! So, if you're contemplating an outdoor wedding, I say DO IT and you won't be disappointed! :) Back to Patricia and...

Style Me Pretty Little Black Book Blog Feature – Arkansas Wedding Photography

A few months ago I shot a wedding in Poteau, Oklahoma/Ft. Smith, Arkansas. Jana and Mark's wedding was a really beautiful affair and very unique. Jana and her team of planners from Details Weddings & Events did an incredible job of putting together an elegant and traditional wedding with contemporary touches that reflected Jana's love of nature - they did such a great job that it caught the eye of the infamous Style Me Pretty website! I'm thrilled and honored to share with all of you that the photos from Jana's wedding have been featured on the SMP Little Black Book blog. Here's a screen capture, but you can also click on the badge below to see the full post: ...

Lacey and Spencer’s Garvan Gardens Wedding – The Details

Lacey and Spencer were married at the beautiful Garvan Woodland Gardens in the Anthony Chapel. They celebrated their new marital status at The Arlington Hotel in Hot Springs. Lacey and her mother put together a very beautiful and classic wedding. The bridesmaids wore cute strapless dresses that had pockets (how awesome!) and carried green and pink bouquets. Lacey carried a pink bouquet accented with green that was wrapped in lace from her mother's veil, and pinned to the bouquet stem were her father's military i.d. tags. The reception colors were white and black with touches of pink. A very sophisticated, yet fun wedding! Here are some of my favorite details from the day: ...

Lacey & Spencer’s Garvan Gardens Wedding

Lacey and Spencer were married last weekend at the amazing Garvan Woodland Gardens in Hot Springs, Arkansas. The gardens were beautiful as always, but it was incredibly hot so we kept our outdoor shots to a minimum so the bridal party didn't melt before the ceremony began. Lacey chose a great little black dress for the bridesmaids and a simple color palate of pink and green for the flowers. Everything was very elegant with a modern touch. Great job, Lacey! Here are some of my favorite shots of the getting ready, ceremony and reception. Behind the scenes: The dressing room was completely mirrored, so it was interesting trying to keep myself out of the wide shots. Here I am snapping a quick shot of myself in action! Lacey and Spencer kicked off the reception with their first dance. Here are two quick shots of the cocktail table centerpieces and the cake. I love how clean and elegant the event design was. More photos of the flowers and details coming soon! Everyone had a really great time at the reception and danced all night long. ...

Nancy & Jackson’s Little Rock Wedding: Getting Ready, The Ceremony & Reception

Now that you've seen Nancy and Jackson's wedding details and portraits, lets get down to business and see what happened on their wedding day! Nancy, her bridesmaids and her Mother all got ready at Nancy's parents house, which was only a few steps from the church, which is absolutely perfect for weddings because it has gorgeous grounds and awesome interior lighting . The girls and guys all gathered at the church before the ceremony for the final touches to their bridal outfits and to say a few prayers. After they said their 'I do's' the congregation and wedding party celebrated at the Crowne Plaza in West Little Rock. Here are some of my favorite images from the day: All of the ladies had beautiful make-up and awesome hair! I love 'getting ready' shots in black and white. I think they more fully capture the moment and allow you to really feel the emotion in the room. I thought I'd do something a little different with the cake shot in this post. It was so delicious that I had so share the 'after!' I leave you with two of my favorite shots of the day...

Nancy & Jackson’s Little Rock Wedding – The Details!

Nancy and Jackson were married at the Trinity Presbyterian Church in West Little Rock and they celebrated their nuptials with a reception at the Crowne Plazza. Nancy put together a beautiful palate of soft creams and golds. The bridesmaids wore gold dresses in different styles and their bouquets included some soft, dark brown feathers for a little added flair. Nancy's dress was gorgeous - tons of bead work and lots of layers. Here are some of my favorite detail shots from the day: ...
