Weddings in Arkansas recently launched their newly designed website and blog - it's beautiful and chocked full of amazing ideas for Arkansas brides and grooms! One of the super fun things the editors at Weddings in Arkansas do is showcase photography from around the state. This week, they highlighted a few cakes from recent weddings, and Kaylee and Colt's black and purple cake was chosen to be featured. How fun is that?!? ...

LyndaBeth and Travis’ St. Anthony’s on the Creek Wedding

LyndaBeth and Travis were married Tuesday November 21st at St. Anthony's on the Creek in Lowell. It was a cool, overcast day and the location could not have been more perfect for the intimate wedding this couple had in mind. LyndaBeth made her bouquet and included a hand-made pendant with her Father's photo so he could be with her on her wedding day. She wore a beautiful plum dress and sparkly black flats - perfect for her going away outfit, too! Here are a few of my favorite images from the day: ...

Arkansas Democrat Gazette Feature

I'm a big fan of the bridal fair that the Arkansas Democrat Gazette puts on several times a year all across the state. It's an awesome opportunity for brides and newly engaged couples to get lots of great ideas for their weddings and meet many of the most fantastic vendors in the state. There is also a website that the paper sponsors , the Arkansas Bridal Community, where brides/grooms can register their wedding announcements, get more information on the bridal fairs, see photos of real weddings, find wedding ideas and get information on vendors. I was super excited to find out that they wanted to feature Brandee and Shawn's September wedding! They did a great job of telling the story of this couple and showcasing some of their photos. Kaylee and Colt’s Ft. Smith Wedding – Arkansas Wedding Photography

Kaylee and Colt grew up in Charleston, Arkansas and have known each other since childhood. Their love story began in high-school and after years of courtship, the two decided to buy a house together. To help ring in the celebration of their new home, Colt had a few surprises up his sleeve. He arranged for Kaylee to enjoy a day full of pampering, relaxation and gifts. After what seemed to be an unusually wonderful day for Kaylee, Colt surprised her again and popped the question! The happy couple was married October 15th at the Eastside Baptist Church in Ft. Smith. Kaylee was calm and collected all day. When I arrived she was relaxed and even running ahead of schedule. That, my friends, is a true feat on a wedding day! The rest of the day unfolded just as gracefully as Kaylee expected. We even had a few minutes of light after their evening ceremony to capture some portraits of the bride and groom. Doesn't Kaylee make a stunning bride? Gorgeous, right?!? Kaylee's bridesmaids were SO MUCH FUN!! Each of these girls were super sweet and clearly wonderful friends to Kaylee. Family and friends celebrated with Kaylee and Colt at the Hardscrabble Country club in Ft....

Emily & Geoff are Married – North Little Rock Wedding Photography

Emily and Geoff were married on 10-1-11. The ceremony was intimate and lovely. The North Little Rock Junior League building was the perfect spot for this couple to exchange vows. Geoff is from Canada and the two live in Memphis, but Emily is from the Little Rock area so they decided to have a small, very personal and meaningful wedding. Emily's father is a pastor at Cedar Heights Baptist Church in North Little Rock, and he and her brother performed the ceremony. There was laughter, there were tears and in the end there were many hugs. It was a beautiful wedding followed by a fun reception for more family and friends at the Cedar Heights reception hall. Did I mention the fun? Emily was a super fun, super relaxed and super easy-going bride. She put together a whimsical fall color scheme for the wedding that included turquoise shoes for the bride and matching argyle socks for the groom - I LOVED it! Here are a few of my favorite images from Geoff and Emily's wedding: Charlie, Emily's Dad, was so sweet. I love the moment when a father sees his daughter for the first time on her wedding day. Priceless. There was lots of...

Brandee and Shawn – 9-10-11 Little Rock Wedding

Brandee and Shawn were married on September 10th at Brandee's parents' home. This was one of the most enjoyable wedding photography experiences I've ever had, and it was all because of my amazing client and her amazing family and friends. Brandee is a seriously sweet, wonderful person and her mother, Jelaine, is my favorite mother of the bride to date - the Lumpkins are simply great people. After shooting this wedding, I told Jelaine that I felt like a member of their family. Not only did Brandee's family help put together the wedding, but her church family did too. Many of Jelaine's friends helped with the catering and the event set-up. It was the most put-together and warm group of non-wedding pros I've ever had the pleasure of working with. Being surrounded by so many loving friends and family made the day especially wonderful for everyone who attended the wedding. Brandee, Jelaine and my good friends over at Distinctive Designs by Tanarah did an amazing job of creating a beautiful, relaxed wedding. Jelaine had the vision and Stephen at Distinctive Designs helped her turn it into reality. Burlap, wild flowers and hand painted signs made this wedding warm and pretty. There...
