Jana and Mark’s Ft. Smith Wedding and Reception

Whew! I have been so busy editing that I haven't had the chance until now to make the final post from Jana and Mark's wedding. Here are a few shots of the 'getting ready,' the ceremony and the celebration! Congratulations to Jana and Mark, you're a really awesome couple and were absolutely wonderful to work with. I wish you a lifetime of happiness and success! What a beautiful, sunny day and gorgeous blue sky! Jana and Mark saw each other for a few private moments before shooting family portraits the ceremony. I highly recommend doing this to all of my clients because it allows you to take more portraits before the ceremony so that you can relax and enjoy yourself during the reception! And here comes the bride! This is a beautiful shot that my second shooter, J.D. Horne, took. I love how romantic this feels. And now for some fun group shots! Let the celebrating begin! I've been told by clients that they almost forget that I'm even there after the ceremony (I've even been called a wedding photography ninja!), which I love because it allows me to capture sweet moments like this one: This tree was just TOO awesome not to share with you again! ...

Happy Father’s Day!

I am so lucky to have so many wonderful men in my life. My Dad has always been an amazing father, and now Emma-Kate is fortunate to have him as her Papaw, and I'm fortunate to get to see how much my little girl loves him. I'm also blessed to have the most amazing husband and father to Emma-Kate. Andrew has exceeded any expectation that I could have had for him as a Dad, and am so thankful for all of  the wonderful and amazing things he does for our little girl and our family. To my wonderful husband and to my Dad, Happy Fathers Day! ...

Carrie’s Little Rock Bridal Portraits

Carrie and Levi are married, so now I can show you these amazing bridal portraits I've been itching to post for weeks now!  We shot Carrie's bridal portraits at various locations in downtown Little Rock. I love shooting downtown because there is such a great variety of backgrounds and settings to choose from. Some of my favorite images from this shoot were taken at the very end of our shoot when we had a few minutes of 'magic light' and we were waiting for Carrie's sister, Amy, to pull the car around. I love when a bride is happy to shoot whenever, wherever, however - it always makes for a fun shoot! We happened to cross the street right as a trolley made a stop. The conductor was so nice and invited us on board for some photos. I think the one below of Carrie might be my favorite of the session. She looks so happy and I love how vibrant the trolley colors are. There is something so glamorous about the photo below. Carrie looked absolutely beautiful! Ahhh...

Pensacola Beach Fun!

My family and I have been vacationing in Pensacola beach since I was 2 years old. About 4 years ago, we introduced Andrew to our favorite beach and this year we were lucky enough to share the surf, sand and sun with Emma-Kate. It was a pretty special vacation for me and my parents because we've rented the same house year after year after year, so it was a very cool experience getting to create some memories with Emma-Kate that I also had during my childhood. We were also blessed by the oil/ocean gods and so far the beach has been relatively untouched by the BP oil spill. Here are some shots from our beach vacation: Lola is quite the card and dice shark. I love beach storms. They're so dramatic, but also short-lived - which means that you get to enjoy the sound of rain on the roof and play in the sand all in the same day! ...

Jana & Mark’s Fort Smith Wedding Details – Part 1

Jana and Mark's wedding was A-mazing! The wedding was held at the First Baptist Church of Poteau, Oklahoma. A cake and punch reception followed their nuptials in the church's gymnasium. This reception certainly did not look like it was being held in the same room where basketball practice takes place. Details Weddings & Events did and amazing job of putting together an incredibly classy and elegant setting for the celebration. Expressions did an beautiful job on the flowers and the hor d'oeuvres from the chef at Hardscrabble were delish! Since Jana and Mark are no ordinary couple - in fact they're extraordinary! - they had another reception that followed later in the evening at the Hardscrabble Country Club in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Miranda and Ian’s Peabody Wedding and Reception

Miranda and Ian's wedding and reception at the Peabody were beautiful. The wedding took place next to the river on the Arkansas Ballroom outdoor terrace and the reception followed in the Arkansas Ballroom. Miranda incorporated several really fun and unique touches to the day, including the most awesome 'wish lanterns' that were lit from the terrace and traveled over the river through North Little Rock. Here are some shots of the bride and groom preparing for their day, the ceremony and very fun reception. The ceremony was followed by a beautiful sunset...
