I was so surprised, honored and thrilled when I learned that I was voted runner up for the Best Photographer in the Arkansas Times Best of Arkansas. This is really a huge deal to me, especially because it came as a complete shock. I feel so blessed to have so many wonderful clients, friends, family members and blog readers who took the time to write my name in that little blank and voted for me. Brandee and Shawn’s Engagement Session

It was hot, hot, hot for Brandee and Shawn's engagement session, but they were troopers! We headed over to the Maumelle/NLR side of the Big Dam Bridge for their session. Even though it was literally 100+ degrees outside, this couple was excited to have their portraits taken. My favorite thing about these two? Their ability to make each other laugh, a real, honest to goodness laugh. So many of their photos are of Brandee with a big, beautiful smile on her face and I just love that. Congratulations you two and I can't wait to photograph your wedding on 9-10-11! For now, here are some of my favorite images from Brandee and Shawn's Maumelle engagement session: ...

Summer Fun at Pensacola Beach

My family and I have been going to Pensacola Beach for 25 years. It's probably my favorite place in the US because we always stay at the same house and it really feels like going home every time we make a trip down there - but better than home because it's the BEACH! It's so special for me to be able to share some of my favorite childhood memories with Emma-Kate and to watch her explore the beach, try new foods and play sea critters with jubilant toddler enthusiasm. Here are a few of my favorite photos from our vaca: If you're a Seinfeld fan, you'll remember Elaine's dancing skills...

Wedding Wire Reviewed

One of the things I love most about planning a wedding today is that there is so much information available online. Brides can browse through thousands of photos for inspiration for their wedding design, look through photos from friends' weddings on social networking sites and even connect with other engaged couples who are also in the planning process through forums and blogs. All of this information can be overwhelming, though, which can sometimes make the process of choosing and selecting wedding vendors challenging. I think that one of the best ways to ensure that you'll be happy with a wedding vendor's work for your wedding is to listen to what their past clients have to say...

Kara’s Bridal Portraits at the Harper-Alexander House

I met Kara and her mother at the Harper-Alexander House for her bridal portraits. I've never been to this location before and was curious how the house and it's surroundings would photograph. As you can see from Kara's portraits below, the location is amazing! We had the perfect light for some backlit photos and some fun, dreamy indoor shots in some of the upstairs rooms of the house. Here are a few of my favorite portraits below: ...

Lauren & Craig’s Wedding – The Little Rock Club – Arkansas Wedding Photography

Lauren and Craig were married June 18th at the Calvary Baptist Church in the Heights. The ceremony was simple, beautiful and heart warming as Lauren's Grandfather pronounced the couple husband and wife. The couple celebrated their vows with a stunning reception at the Little Rock Club. Here are a few of my favorite details, moments and portraits from the day: It was 100 degrees outside, so we opted to take the girls group portraits indoors. I loved the furniture in the church lobby! The 'First Look' was my favorite moment of the day.  Lauren's eyes welled up as soon as I told her it was time to see Craig. The love between these two is precious and I adore how excited they were to see each other. Big smiles, tender hugs and quiet prayers made for the perfect First Look. Lauren wore a cathedral length veil during the ceremony that was made from her Mom's wedding dress. Her bouquet wrap also contained a sentimental something 'old' - a Swarovski  brooch of her Grandmother's made the perfect addition to her white orchids and hydrangea. After the ceremony, guests and the bridal party headed downtown to the Little Rock Club for an elegant and very fun...

Lauren’s Marylake Bridal Portraits

Lauren and Craig were married June 18 at the Calvary Baptist Church in Little Rock. A few weeks ago, Lauren and I ventured to the beautiful Marylake Monestary for her bridal portraits. This was the perfect setting for the session and Lauren looked ah-mazing. The bride was stunning, the sky was blue, the weather warm and the grass green. What photographer could ask for more?? Here are a few of my favorite portraits:  ...

I'm so excited to share that one of my adorable couples from last year has been featured in Arkansas Bride's Fall/Winer 2011 magazine! Lindsey’s Little Rock Bridal Portraits – Little Rock Wedding Photography

Lindsey had her heart set on the grounds at Hendrix for her bridal portraits, but the weather had other plans in store for us. With rain falling from the sky, we decided we needed to find some indoor locations. Fortunately, the Statehouse Convention Center and The Capitol Hotel had openings so we headed downtown to shoot. Even though the settings weren't what we planned for, I love, love, love the images we captured. Lindsey looks amazing and the light we were able to find indoors was so darn pretty! Here are a few of my favorite images from our session together. ...

Monica & Ryan’s Little Rock Wedding

Monica and Ryan were married on May 21st at the Cathedral of Saint Andrew in Little Rock. The ceremony was held in the main sanctuary and the wedding reception followed in McDonald Hall. Monica and Ryan both work in forensics for the State crime lab, so it seemed fitting that their wedding colors were shades of blue. Surrounded by family and friends, many of whom drove all the way from West Virginia and Florida, Monica and Ryan exchanged vows and then danced the night away to tune's from the fab Joe Snell of Central Arkansas Entertainment. The Little Black Dress Brigade did an amazing job with the florals and Along for the Bride did a great job a coordinating the day and putting together a seamless event! Here are a few of my favorite images from the day!  ...
