Arkansas Bride Spring/Summer 2012 Print Features

The new edition of Arkansas Bride is out, and man is it gorgeous! It's full of beautiful real Arkansas weddings, amazing editorial spreads and tons of ideas for couples planning their Arkansas weddings. I'm honored that two of my photos were chosen to be featured in this issue! Michelle and George's cake was selected to be featured in the color ideas section and Lauren's bridal portrait was selected as an Editor's Favorite in the Photographer Favorite's section. So. Much. Fun! Cabbage Rose also selected one of my images from Lauren and Craig's wedding to be used as their ad for the issue, and I've also got an ad running! ...

Hardin Family Holiday Portraits

Amy Hardin is one of my favorite wedding vendors to work with! She and her Mom have Details, Weddings & Events, a full-service event design and coordination company. They are awesome at what they do and always so much fun to work with! I was super excited when Amy talked to me about shooting her family holiday portraits because she has a little boy who is about the same age as my Emma-Kate AND she wanted to include their horses in the portraits. Awesome light, a spunky toddler and an extra eight legs?? Bring on the photo goodness!! Here are some of my favorite images from the Hardin's holiday portraits Amy and Jon met when they were 14 showing horses...

Jordan and Chance’s Fayetteville Engagement Session

Jordan and Chance are getting married in Fayetteville next Spring. Jordan and I had been emailing back and forth quite a bit trying to find the perfect time and the perfect location for her engagement portraits. We nailed it. We had the date, the time and were on the hunt for the perfect field. As the day of the shoot approached so did massive amounts of rain and cloud-covered skies. Our hopes of sunset images in overgrown grass were dashed, but the skies parted long enough for us to capture some awesome images on Old Main lawn and on the Fayetteville Square. Jordan and Chance had a BLAST together during the shoot. I don't recall a session where my clients laughed so much. It was so fun photographing a couple that is totally enamored with eachother and knows how to have big fun! Here are a few of my favorite images from Jordan & Chance's session: ...

LyndaBeth and Travis’ St. Anthony’s on the Creek Wedding

LyndaBeth and Travis were married Tuesday November 21st at St. Anthony's on the Creek in Lowell. It was a cool, overcast day and the location could not have been more perfect for the intimate wedding this couple had in mind. LyndaBeth made her bouquet and included a hand-made pendant with her Father's photo so he could be with her on her wedding day. She wore a beautiful plum dress and sparkly black flats - perfect for her going away outfit, too! Here are a few of my favorite images from the day: ...

Our House and Giving Back

A few weekends ago, I spent my Saturday morning photographing some amazing families. I organized this portrait event with Our House, a local shelter for the working homeless, in order to give a few deserving families some beautiful portraits.  It was an experience that I cannot yet put into words as eloquently as I would like, but I wanted to go ahead and share the photos here. I keep thinking back to that day and simply feel overwhelmed by emotion. I think it's easy to forget how lucky we are, how much we have to be thankful for, and how easy it is to go along with our day-to-day lives and not think about the bigger picture. All of these families are working hard to better themselves and to create a better life for their children. I can't think of another situation in my life where I've been around such nice, humble and appreciative women and truly happy kids. I walked away feeling so much love for my own daughter, and determined to find a way to do more for families like these...
