SESSION INFO & FAQs

  • What Kind of Equipment do You Use?

I shoot with a Canon 5D Mark II and a Canon 40D as backup. I have a variety of lenses, flashes, memory cards and other accessories that I bring to every session.

  • How Do I Book You for My Wedding?

Please take a minute to contact me, and we'll find a time to chat about your wedding, your love story, what you're looking for and any other questions you might have. If you are in Central Arkansas or Little Rock, consultation sessions are recommended. We'll meet over dinner or coffee, so that we have the chance to get to know each other and see if my services would be a good fit for your wedding photography.

  • What Happens After the Consultation?

I'll put together a contract for you to review. If everything looks good to you, you'll sign and send in a deposit to confirm your booking. After that, I'm officially yours!

  • Do You Travel

Yes! I mostly shoot Arkansas wedding photography in the central and northwest parts of the state, but I am more than happy to travel to a destination of your choice. Email me and we'll set up a consultation to discuss a customized package that includes travel to your destination of choice.

  • What Should I Wear for My Engagement Session?

There aren't any hard-and-fast rules for what to wear, but I do tell my brides and grooms to keep itsimple, keep it classic and keep it real. The images are about you, not what you're wearing; however, whenever possible your clothing should reflect you, your relationship and your personalities. If you love the great outdoors and enjoy camping on the weekends, then I recommend putting together an outfit that's cute, comfortable, and outdoorsy -Let's shoot your session at a state park or an awesome, overgrown field!

If you and your fiancé love fine-dining and wine, then I suggest wearing something a little more formal, like a sassy little black dress, and set your session in a chic, urban environment.

Here are some good guidelines for choosing your outfit:

-          Keep it Simple – Patterns, logos and graphic design will be distracting, so keep your selection simple and timeless, yet modern.

-          Pick Solid Muted Colors – Solid, dark, warm, pastel and earthy colors look best in portraits. Light, super bright and white shirts have the tendency to wash you out, so dress in muted colors that complement each other.

Shoes and Accessories – I'm all about the SHOES! I love, love, love shoes. I can't say that enough. If you're obsessed with footwear or just have an appreciation for fashion, pick out an awesome pair or two (or three!) to wear during your engagement session and on your wedding day. As far as accessories go, I recommend wearing a few nice pieces that compliment your outfit, but won't distract from your face.

  • What Should We Expect During the Engagement Shoot?

  • You should come ready to have fun and enjoy spending some time with your fiancé. The engagement shoot is a time for us to get to know each other a little so that you feel super comfortable on your wedding day, and also for us to capture some amazing, beautiful images. My goal is always to make you feel comfortable and relaxed. I'm not a super posey-posey photographer, but I will guide you into poses and positions that are flattering and relaxed. I always tell my couples that I want them to feel more connected and in love with each other after the session than before, so think lovey thoughts and be prepared to snuggle up! For the guys reading this, the engagement session is a great opportunity to get some extra TLC from your lady. Don't be afraid of PDA in front of the camera – it's sweet, sexy and makes the session that much more awesome.

  • What Should We Expect During the Wedding?

  • Many of my clients tell me after the wedding that they completely forgot that I was there.  I've been called a 'photography ninja' on more than one occasion.  I work as quietly and inconspicuously as possible throughout the day to capture all of your priceless moments, real emotions and amazing details.  It's my job to document your day in a way that allows you to enjoy it.  I won't ask you to turn here or pose there every 5 minutes.  There will be times when I might ask you to stop what you're doing for a moment and I will certainly provide direction during portraits, but I am relatively invisible for the majority of the day.

  • How Soon After Our Session and After the Wedding Will We See Our Images?

  • You will receive a link to your password-protected online gallery within one to two weeks of your session or wedding date, but you will usually see some photos on my blog within a few days of your shoot! You will receive your DVD in the mail within two to three weeks from your session/wedding date.

  • What About Ordering Prints

  • All of my clients receive password-protected online galleries to view their images. The galleries also allow you to download individual files and order prints, which make them perfect for sharing with your family, wedding party and friends. Even though most of my clients receive a DVD and shared printing rights with their wedding package, I always recommend ordering prints through your gallery. The prints from your gallery come from a professional print lab and are of a much higher quality than ordering from a chain-store or online print house. If you're looking for something that is more of an art piece, you can also order fine-art prints, thin-wrap prints, canvases, and albums through me.
